About this product
The NON RETURN VALVE FLANGED END CI 2-1/2" is a cast iron non-return valve with flanged ends, designed for compatible irrigation and water-delivery pipe systems. Its flanged connection allows the valve to be bolted into suitable pipework and removed for inspection or servicing without cutting the pipe. The non-return mechanism helps prevent reverse flow when correctly installed in the appropriate flow direction.
Key features
- Cast iron construction
- Flanged-end connection
- Non-return valve mechanism
- Suitable for compatible irrigation and water-delivery systems
- Removable for inspection and servicing
Where it's used
- Submersible and openwell pump delivery lines
- Pumped delivery mains where reverse flow needs to be restricted
- Installations where a bolted/flanged connection is preferred
- Compatible irrigation and water-delivery systems
Benefits
- Helps restrict reverse flow when correctly installed
- Flanged connection allows removal for inspection and servicing
- Cast iron body suitable for compatible installations
- Practical for larger threaded/flanged delivery assemblies
- Allows gasket and flange connection inspection during servicing
Installation recommendations
Install with the flow arrow pointing in the intended delivery direction. Align the mating flanges correctly, position a suitable gasket, and tighten the flange bolts evenly in a cross pattern. Support the pipework so the valve is not carrying unsupported pipe weight. After installation, start the system gradually and check the flange joints for leakage and correct valve operation.

Before you buy
What is the purpose of this non-return valve?
It is designed to help prevent reverse flow in compatible irrigation and water-delivery systems when correctly installed in the intended flow direction.
Why does this model have flanged ends?
The flanged ends allow the valve to be bolted to compatible flanged pipework using suitable gaskets and fasteners.
How should the valve be installed?
Install it with the flow arrow pointing in the intended delivery direction. Align the flanges, use a suitable gasket, and tighten the bolts evenly in a cross pattern.
Can the valve be removed for servicing?
Yes. A flanged connection allows the valve to be disconnected for inspection or servicing without cutting the adjoining pipework.
What should I check if the flange connection leaks?
Isolate and depressurize the system, then check flange alignment, gasket condition, bolt tightening and mating surfaces. Do not try to stop leakage by excessive tightening.
Can I install the valve in either direction?
No. The valve should be installed according to its indicated flow direction so that the non-return mechanism operates correctly.
Does the valve have a specified operating-pressure rating?
No operating-pressure rating is specified . The allowable pressure depends on the complete installed system and its components.
How should the valve be maintained?
Periodically inspect the valve and flange joints for leakage, debris, damage or abnormal operation. Always isolate and depressurize the system before inspection or servicing.
Are your prices MRP or dealer rate?
Every price on this site is MRP, inclusive of tax. It is the same for everyone — there is no separate dealer login or hidden rate. For bulk quantities, send a bulk enquiry and we will quote on volume.
Why is GST 5% on some products and 18% on others?
Micro-irrigation equipment — drip and sprinkler systems — attracts 5% GST under Indian tax rules. General plastic pipe and fittings attract 18%. The rate that applies is shown on each product page rather than assumed.
