Installation recommendations

Verify the nipple size and thread compatibility with the mating HDPE pipe/fitting before installation. Ensure the pipe and fitting threads are clean and free from dirt, mud, burrs or damaged material. If the nipple is being used with a compatible HDPE connection component, cut the pipe square and remove any burrs before assembly. Use a suitable thread-sealing material compatible with the system. Apply it correctly without excessive material entering the flow passage. Engage the threads by hand first to ensure correct alignment and prevent cross-threading. Use an appropriate tool if required. Tighten sufficiently to achieve a secure connection—do not over-tighten. Confirm that the pipe/fitting is properly seated, aligned and supported. Avoid side loads or bending forces on the connection. Gradually pressurise the system and inspect the connection for leakage or movement before putting it into normal operation. Isolate the water supply. Do not simply tighten excessively. Check alignment, thread condition, sealing material and component compatibility, then reassemble if necessary. Periodically inspect accessible connections. Replace damaged or worn components rather than forcing them back into service. Never install, adjust or dismantle the connection while the line is pressurised.
