Installation recommendations

1.Confirm that the size threaded connection is compatible with the mating suction pipe or fitting. 2. Position the jali/strainer clear of the well floor and settled deposits. 3. Clean the mating threads and inspect the jali before installation. 4. Apply a suitable thread sealant compatible with the installation. 5. Start the threaded connection by hand to avoid cross-threading. 6. Tighten carefully with suitable tools; do not over-tighten. 7. Ensure the suction assembly is adequately supported and not subjected to excessive bending load. 8. Before operation, check that the jali is clear and the suction path is unobstructed. 9. Inspect and clean the jali periodically, particularly where the water contains leaves, silt or other debris.

Before you buy

Where should the jali bend be positioned in an openwell?

Position it sufficiently above the well floor and settled deposits so that the suction does not draw accumulated silt and debris directly into the strainer.

Why should the jali be kept clean?

A partially blocked jali can restrict the suction path and may reduce pump delivery. Inspect and clean it periodically.

Can this bend be used with any pipe?

Use it only with compatible size threaded pipe or fittings and confirm thread compatibility before installation.

How do I install the threaded connection?

Clean the threads, apply a suitable thread sealant, start the connection by hand and tighten carefully without over-tightening.

What should I do if pump delivery decreases?

First isolate the system safely and inspect the jali for leaves, silt or other debris. Also check the suction assembly for blockage, leakage or incorrect positioning.

Can it be used for high-pressure applications?

Do not assume a pressure rating from the product name alone. The allowable operating pressure depends on the complete suction assembly, mating components, seals and installation conditions.

Does the jali eliminate all debris entering the pump?

No. The jali is intended to screen suitable larger debris; fine silt and other small particles may still pass through depending on the jali opening and water conditions.

How often should it be cleaned?

There is no universal interval. Inspect it periodically and clean it whenever debris accumulation is observed or suction performance is affected.

Why is GST 5% on some products and 18% on others?

Micro-irrigation equipment — drip and sprinkler systems — attracts 5% GST under Indian tax rules. General plastic pipe and fittings attract 18%. The rate that applies is shown on each product page rather than assumed.

Do I have to buy a whole box of small fittings?

No. Small drip fittings such as joiners and end caps arrive boxed — 100 to a bag, for instance — but you order in pieces and can buy a single one. The box quantity and its price are shown alongside the per-piece MRP so you can see both, and any product with a genuine minimum order states it on its page and on its data sheet.
